This weekend the Detroit Lions will play the San Francisco 49ers for the NFC championship. The Lions last played in 1991 for the Halas Trophy, which is awarded to the winner of the NFC championship. Meanwhile, the 49ers have played for the title ten times since then, including in three of the last four years. This is a stark difference.
